Welcome to the City of Woodstock's online project site for the Connect the Creeks study. The 2021 Town Center & Highway 92 Livable Centers Initiative (LCI) Update listed "Connecting the Creeks" as one of its most important strategy outcomes. In pursuit of that goal, the City of Woodstock is now conducting an early planning and feasibility study to identify possible connection routes between the existing Noonday Creek Trail and Rubes Creek Trail!

Timeline item 1 - complete

Existing Conditions/Technical Analysis

During this stage the project team will be conducting data collection and analysis to assess what the on-the-ground conditions are that may influence any future potential trail alignments. This will include mapping traffic data and environmental concerns, as well as assessing demographic trends and patterns. As part of this section, the project team will conduct an environmental screening, as well as a high-level review of what potential right-of-way and utility coordination any potential project may involve.

Public Engagement

The public engagement portion of the project will involve project team attendance at a number of community pop-up events. At these events, members of the project team will man booths and be available for public feedback and questions. This stage of the project also involves coordination and meeting with the project's standing Stakeholder Committee (including a walking tour, as well as two additional follow-up meetings).

Conceptual Plan and Analysis Report

After assessing the study area's existing conditions and soliciting feedback from stakeholders and the public, the project team will be ready to formulate and submit a series of conceptual trail layouts. These layouts will include high-level conceptual renderings, and may include up to 3 potential alignment alternatives.

Final Project Deliverables

As the study nears completion, and the project team receives feedback on the potential alignment alternatives, specific deliverables will be submitted to the City of Woodstock documenting key findings. These deliverables will include a final report documenting the planning process and its outcomes; a 100-day action plan designed to jump start implementation; and high-level cost estimates to inform next steps.
