About the Project

The Barren River Area Development District (BRADD) Regional Greenways Feasibility Study is all about connecting communities across South‑Central Kentucky with safe, scenic, and accessible trails. Funded by a federal grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation, this project looks at all ten counties in the Barren River Area Development District to see how we can link towns, parks, schools, and destinations with a regional trail system.

Right now, many places don’t have good walking or biking connections between communities. This study will explore where new trails, sidewalks, and shared‑use paths could go, while also looking at things like safety, cost, and environmental considerations.

By working closely with local leaders and the public, the project will create a roadmap for trails that support healthy lifestyles, boost tourism, and strengthen our regional economy. The final plan will guide future investments and help move South‑Central Kentucky toward a true connected trail network.
